Why we awarded Bobrisky as Best Dressed Female – Eniola Ajao. Eniola Ajao, a Nigerian actress and filmmaker, has clarified the reasoning behind awarding controversial transwoman Bobrisky the title of ‘Best Dressed Female’.
Following the premiere of the movie “Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds,” there was uproar among celebrities over Bobrisky receiving the award. Notable figures like Toyin Abraham, Portable, and Dayo Amusa expressed their discontent.
The situation escalated when Femi Adebayo and Dayo Amusa engaged in a public altercation, with the latter criticizing the decision to award Bobrisky.
Eniola explained in an interview with Arise News TV that selecting Bobrisky was a deliberate move, part of a publicity stunt and marketing strategy to promote her film.
She acknowledged that Bobrisky’s controversial persona made him a standout choice for the title, helping to generate buzz around her project.
Eniola also noted that Femi Adebayo, unaware of her intentions and simply trying to assist as the evening’s presenter, faced backlash from the public as a result.

“It was all joke, we wanted to have fun. We wanted people to talk about the movie. My team and I decided that the movie needed to be talked about and for it to be in the faces of people and we decided to give it to Bobrisky because he is a controversial person.
At the end of the day, people started talking about it, but some people are trying to come at Femi Adebayo, who is my boss. He wasn’t even aware of so many things that were going on. I only called him to help me announce this, he wasn’t part of the judges or anything”
