The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards took place on October 8 at Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub in Las Vegas. Although the event wasn’t broadcast live, it aired as a taped event on BET and VH1 on October 15, 2024.
Fat Joe Hosts BET Hip Hop Awards 2024
For the third time, legendary rapper and executive producer Fat Joe hosted the event, opening the show with an electrifying performance of his iconic hit, “Make It Rain,” featuring DJ Spinatik.
Kendrick Lamar Dominates the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards
This year’s big winner was Kendrick Lamar, who led the nominations with 11 nods and walked away with 8 awards, including:
- Hip Hop Artist of the Year
- Lyricist of the Year
- Song of the Year for Not Like Us
- Video Director of the Year (with Dave Free)
Special Honorees and Performances
During the event, Travis Scott was honored with the prestigious “I Am Hip Hop” Award, presented by Teyana Taylor. The ceremony also featured energetic performances from notable artists such as Trina, Yung Miami, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, and more.
