Popular TikToker, Sweet, sentenced to 3 years in prison for defaming actress Eniola Badmus. Blessing Nwakaego Okoye, known as Sweet, received a three-year jail term for defaming actress Eniola Badmus on social media.
A Federal High Court in Lagos State convicted Blessing on Wednesday, April 3, following her guilty plea to the charges.
Sweet had accused Eniola Badmus of being a pimp who arranges girls for politicians in exchange for money.
After admitting to defaming the actress, Sweet revealed she did so after being promised N200,000 by her friend, Fortune Ibe.
Despite her remorse, Justice Oweibo gave Sweet the option to pay a fine of N150,000 instead of serving jail time, citing violations of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
Blessing Nwakaego Okoye and an accomplice, Chimabia, who is currently evading arrest, were jointly charged for the offense.
