The Nigerian singer, Adewale Emmanuel Mayowa, commonly known as Mayorkun, has filed a lawsuit against TikTok influencer Nicki DaBarbie for defamation, accusing her of labeling him as a ritualist.
According to reports from Gistreel, Nicki DaBarbie claimed that both Mayorkun and Skiibii were trying to exploit her for occult rituals. She also stated that she was threatened with legal action if she made the allegations public.
Mayorkun responded by posting a letter demanding that Nicki DaBarbie cease making defamatory statements about him and retract all accusations. He instructed her to remove the offensive posts from all social media platforms within 24 hours.
Additionally, Nicki DaBarbie was required to pay N1 billion in damages for the emotional distress caused, lost endorsement deals, and legal expenses. She was also instructed to issue a formal apology to Mayorkun on the same platforms where the accusations were made.
