How I became a transgender – Bobrisky. Renowned Nigerian controversial transgender Idris Okuneye, also referred to as Bobrisky, has disclosed the story of his transition to crossdressing.

In a recent conversation with Charly Boy, Bobrisky makes a significant revelation regarding his journey to transgenderism.

Bobrisky elaborated that his venture into crossdressing originated as a strategic business move while vending unisex apparel during his time as a student at the University of Lagos.

He mentioned that he had not anticipated that this apparently innocuous decision would steer him towards adopting an entirely new identity.

Despite his parents’ initial apprehension, Bobrisky highlighted that he eventually garnered the courage to authentically express himself and fully embrace his transgender identity, crediting his parents for supporting him in expressing himself freely and living authentically.

In his words:

“About nine years ago, I was at the University of Lagos studying Accounting. I also had a side hustle, I was selling unisex clothes. Most times I try the female wears on myself and I love the outfits.

“From there, I moved to female hairstyles to makeup and more women were patronizing my business. So I decided to keep crossdressing since it was lucrative.

“I wasn’t thinking I was going to do it for a very long time. Initially, it was just a marketing strategy but people were complimenting me that I look better as a woman than a man. That’s how I ended up being Bobrisky.”
