Eniola Ajao says thank you to Nigeria for making her movie ‘Ajakaju: Beast of Two Worlds’ earn 16 million Naira in cinemas on its first day, which is a big deal.
Renowned Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao etches her name in history as her inaugural cinematic venture, “Ajakaju: Beasts of Two Worlds,” shatters records by grossing 16 million Naira in cinemas on its premiere day.
This landmark achievement was announced by FilmOne Entertainment via its official Instagram page on March 30, 2024.
The cinema release of “Ajakaju,” produced by Eniola Ajao, took place nationwide on March 29, 2024, following widespread online discussions sparked by controversy over the award of Best Dressed Female to Bobrisky at the movie’s premiere on March 24th. The decision faced criticism from personalities like Dayo Amusa and Portable, who called out Bobrisky’s selection, as well as Femi Adebayo, who faced backlash for the announcement.
The ensuing social media feud between Portable and Bobrisky prompted Eniola Ajao to intervene. She explained that Bobrisky’s award was a strategic move to garner attention for the movie, apologizing for any unintended consequences. Ajao revealed she had invested over 200 million Naira in the film, liquidating her assets to finance it.
In a heartfelt video message, Eniola Ajao rectifies the situation by announcing new recipients for the Best Dressed Female award, Papaya Ex and Iyabo Ojo, each receiving a token of one million Naira.
FilmOne Entertainment confirms the film’s astounding success, grossing 16 million Naira in its first 24 hours of release, setting a new benchmark for 2024 opening day box office records.
Responding to the achievement, Odunlade Adekola humorously suggests redefining success as “FILMONE” and expresses gratitude to Nigeria for the overwhelming support. He encourages audiences to experience “Ajakaju” in cinemas nationwide, emphasizing its quality entertainment value.
