Davido says what P-Square, 2Face, D’banj gave up for us is what we’re enjoying now. Famous singer, Davido admits that the importance Nigerian artists have now has been given up by their predecessors, as he talks about his first international deal with Sony.
The “Stand Strong” singer talked about this in a recent interview where he discussed how Sony Music signed him, making it his first international deal in 2016.
He shared that at that time, he still had to introduce himself again to the managers.
The singer mentioned that he had to create an album with the Sony group, and since they were the ones signing him, they picked the producers and other members of the music team for his production.
He explained that the album didn’t do well by his standards, and he had to go back to Nigeria to use his producers because the other ones couldn’t understand African music style.
Davido highlighted that the importance Nigerian artists have now was achieved through the hard work of previous generation artists like P-Square, 2Face, Dbanj, and that from the works of the current generation artists, the future generation would achieve more.
