Israel Strikes Back as Hamas Attacks (Full Video)
Israel is under attack by Hamas, and the Israeli Air Force has launched a significant offensive in the Gaza Strip in response. This follows the worst assault on Israel by Hamas in half a century.
Since the start of this conflict, approximately 700 Israelis have lost their lives, more than 2,000 have been injured, and about 100 have been captured by Hamas. The situation has escalated dramatically.
Here’s how we got to this point:
– In 2005, Israel unilaterally withdrew from the Gaza Strip after controlling it for three decades following the Six-Day War with Egypt.
– In 2006, Hamas, a terrorist group, won the Palestinian legislative elections.
– In 2007, a civil conflict led to Hamas taking control of Gaza.
– In 2008, Israel launched a military offensive against Gaza in response to rocket attacks by Palestinian terrorists on the town of Sderot.
– In 2023, Hamas launched the most significant attack on Israel in 50 years, resulting in a high Israeli casualty count.
Hamas has fired thousands of rockets and sent dozens of militants into Israeli cities. Disturbing videos have shown Hamas terrorists taking women hostage and parading them in the streets.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that “we are at war” and pledged that Hamas would face unprecedented consequences. Health officials in Gaza have reported at least 300 Palestinian casualties and over 2,200 injuries.
Netanyahu warned that the battle would be protracted and challenging but vowed to seek significant retribution against Hamas for its actions. The situation continues to evolve rapidly.
