President Joe Biden has selected two Nigerian-Americans, Osagie Imasogie and Chiney Ogwumike, to serve as advisors. They are among the 12 members chosen for the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement in the United States, as announced on the official White House website. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), expressed enthusiasm for their appointment, highlighting it as a source of inspiration for other Nigerians.
Chiney Ogwumike, a two-time WNBA All-Star for the Los Angeles Sparks and a full-time ESPN commentator and NBA analyst, stands proudly as a Nigerian-American. She achieved the title of 2014 WNBA Rookie of the Year and has a notable career in sports broadcasting. Osagie Imasogie, on the other hand, serves as Chairman of Quoin Capital and Quoin Advisors, with extensive involvement in private equity through PIPV Capital. His academic background includes LLM degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
