A woman in Ondo State, Mrs. Tayelolu Solomon, is alleged to have killed her 65-year-old husband, Felix Solomon, using a pestle. The incident took place in the GRA area of Ondo town over the weekend. The couple had been dealing with ongoing conflicts, and the wife had previously threatened her husband’s life.
According to Ibukun Solomon, the son of the deceased who witnessed the tragic event, his mother fatally struck his father in his sleep following a minor argument earlier in the day. The mother used a pestle to hit his father’s head three times, rendering him unconscious, and eventually leading to his death.
After realizing what had transpired, the mother fled the scene, hiding the pestle behind their house. Ibukun sought help from the community, and they rushed his father to the hospital, but sadly, he didn’t survive. The deceased had intended to report his wife’s threats to her family, but tragedy struck before he could do so.
Family members had been attempting to mediate and resolve the ongoing disputes between the couple in the past. The woman had previously made threats to kill her husband during their arguments, which he had reported to the family. However, this time, she took matters into her own hands, resulting in her husband’s untimely death. The family is calling for her arrest and prosecution for her actions.
