Assassination of Osun PDP Chieftain in His Wife’s Shop
Suspected hired assassins carried out the killing of Dele Agboola, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, at his wife’s store in the Ada area.
On the night of September 14, 2023, three individuals posing as customers entered his wife’s shop in Pako Area, Ada, where Agboola was shot and killed. This brutal act occurred shortly after the 42-year-old, affectionately known as Agbo, had briefly left the shop to return home.
Reports suggest that he returned to the shop moments later to retrieve his mobile phone charger. As he was about to leave for his residence behind the shop, the three men approached him and confirmed his identity as Dele Agboola. Without hesitation, they shot him and then fled the scene, causing panic among onlookers.
The relatives of the deceased prevented security forces from removing his body for a post-mortem examination. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Osun State Command, through its spokesperson Kehinde Adeleke, has verified the incident and is actively working to apprehend the culprits.
