In a recent interview, Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has emphasized that Naira Marley cannot be held responsible for his son’s death.
Mr. Aloba, deeply distraught by his son’s passing, expressed that Naira Marley was not present when Mohbad passed away.
Regarding the circumstances of his son’s death, he recounted a vivid dream he had the day before, where he saw someone holding a gun in front of his house, and he narrowly dodged a bullet. On the day of Mohbad’s death, he received a call to visit him in the hospital but had a sense that something was amiss. Mr. Aloba decided to return to Mohbad’s house, where he discovered his son had already passed away.
When asked about those who transported Mohbad to the hospital, he mentioned that he did not know their identities but expressed concern that an unqualified auxiliary nurse had administered an injection to his son. He believes this injection may have contributed to the tragedy.
Addressing speculations about head and neck injuries, Mr. Aloba clarified that the injury was on Mohbad’s hand. He shared that on the day of the incident, Mohbad had encountered a friend at a show, and when some of his associates were uncomfortable with their interaction, Mohbad insisted that his friend stay with him. However, after reaching their destination, an altercation occurred, resulting in the injury.
He mentioned that the following day, Mohbad’s hand became swollen, and they called a nurse, but he was unsure of the nurse’s qualifications. Mr. Aloba revealed that he had not received any information from the doctors, and when he arrived at Mohbad’s residence, the body was already at home.
In response to questions about addressing Mohbad’s previous complaints of assault by Naira Marley and others, Mr. Aloba explained that he had attempted to contact Naira Marley but was unsuccessful due to a lack of direct communication. He mentioned that while he had heard about incidents, it was challenging to attribute them to Naira Marley because his son had faced difficulties during his collaboration with Zlatan, and it wasn’t clear who was responsible.
Mr. Aloba also dismissed claims that his late son was involved in drugs.
