Document Reveals Mohbad Reported Life Threat by Naira Marley’s Aide Sam Larry to Police (Watch)
Three months ago, the late musician Mohbad submitted a formal complaint to the Nigerian police, alleging that he faced threats to his life from Sam Larry Elegushi, an associate of Marlian music, the record label owned by Naira Marley, who used to be Mohbad’s boss. On September 13, Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away at the age of 27. The exact cause of his death remains uncertain, and he was swiftly laid to rest the following day.
There is a video circulating, posted by music blogger Ayo Jaguda, depicting an incident from July of this year. In the video, Mohbad and rapper Zlatan, also known as Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, were on a music set when a group of men led by Sam Larry, allegedly attempted to assault Mohbad.
Now, Ayo Jaguda has shared a document in which Mohbad reported to the police that he believed his life was in danger due to threats from Sam Larry. Dated June 27, the letter was addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police and detailed the assault, threats, and damage caused by Sam Larry and his associates during a video shoot. Mohbad requested intervention to ensure his safety and bring those responsible to justice.
