Cause of Mohbad’s Death: Truth Revealed About Mohbad’s Passing
Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, a Nigerian street hop artist formerly associated with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label, has tragically passed away.
The reason behind Mohbad’s demise was an unfortunate ear infection. According to sources close to the singer, he sought medical treatment early on Tuesday, September 12, and received an injection.
Mohbad’s Suicide Attempt
In a conversation with well-known media personality Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda, a fellow artist and friend of the late Mohbad, disclosed that Mohbad had contemplated suicide during his difficult times but was prevented by friends.
Bella Shmurda recounted, “There was a moment when Mohbad and I were in an apartment, and Mohbad expressed a desire to jump from an upper floor due to issues with his record label. We intervened and held him back from the window. Mohbad had come close to jumping when his girlfriend entered the room and found him seated by the window.”
Mohbad’s Legacy: Who Was Mohbad?
Mohbad had been a rising star in the Nigerian music scene, known for his unique fusion of pop, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. He also garnered praise for his songwriting and lyrical skills.
In 2022, Mohbad released his debut album, “Imole,” which enjoyed significant commercial success. The album featured hit tracks such as “See My Benz,” “Kimi,” and “Ronaldo,” firmly establishing his presence in the industry.
Mohbad’s Rift with Naira Marley and Marlian Music Departure
It’s worth noting that Mohbad’s management announced his departure from the record label on Tuesday, October 25. His legal team released a statement, attributing Mohbad’s exit to ongoing attacks orchestrated by Naira Marley and unpaid royalties dating back to 2019.
The “KPK” hitmaker had previously taken to Twitter on October 5 to share images of injuries, alleging that he was assaulted by members of the Marlian crew for requesting a change in his manager.
Mohbad accused Naira Marley of being present during the assault and failing to intervene. He also accused Marlian Music of not honoring their agreement to pay him advances and royalties for his intellectual property since 2019.
