WWE Legend Tammy Sytch Faces Up to 25 Years in Prison After No Contest Plea for Fatal DUI (Watch)
WWE Icon Tammy Sytch Could Serve Up to 25 Years in Jail Following No Contest Plea for Fatal DUI
Former WWE sensation Tammy Sytch is confronting the possibility of a quarter-century prison sentence after entering a no contest plea to a severe charge of DUI resulting in death.
The esteemed wrestling figure, aged 50, a member of the Hall of Fame, underwent her initial arraignment in May 2022. This came after authorities accused her of causing the death of a 75-year-old man in a tragic inebriated car collision just two months before.
Sytch has remained incarcerated since May 2022, with prosecutors asserting that her car collided into the rear of another vehicle halted at a traffic light on a Florida road in March 2022. Allegedly, her blood alcohol content measured at .08 or higher at the time of the crash.
Initially, she entered a not guilty plea for all charges. However, on August 16, in a Volusia County courtroom, just days ahead of the scheduled trial, she modified her pleas.
Initially granted bail, Sytch was rearrested after prosecutors deemed her a threat to the community.
In conjunction with the felony DUI charge causing death, she also pled no contest to a felony count of driving with a suspended license causing death. Additionally, Sytch pleaded no contest to four misdemeanor charges of DUI with harm to an individual, and two misdemeanor counts of DUI causing property damage.
While a date for her sentencing is yet to be established, court records disclose that she could potentially face up to 25 years of imprisonment.
This incident is not Sytch’s first encounter with drinking and driving allegations. Prior to this, she had faced at least six arrests for impaired driving, including a 2019 incident in New Jersey.
In the previous year, the former wrestling personality was also incarcerated for allegedly making threats involving scissors, aimed at another individual.
