A couple was removed from an EasyJet flight heading to Bristol, UK, after being caught in the act of performing a s3xual act just minutes after takeoff from Tenerife, Spain. The pair, Bradley Smith, 22, and Antonia Sullivan, 20, from Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, have since been charged with public indecency following the incident.
Public Indecency Onboard
According to reports, shortly after the plane took off, Smith was overheard telling his girlfriend to “w**k me off,” while she attempted to conceal the act with several coats. Unfortunately for them, multiple passengers noticed their inappropriate behavior. The passengers, including one seated next to the couple, reported the incident to the in-flight crew after witnessing what they described as “vigorous hand movements.”
Witnesses and Complaints
Among those who witnessed the couple’s actions were a mother and her teenage daughter, who reportedly saw Smith’s private part during the act. The complaints led to immediate action, and upon landing in Bristol, police escorted Smith and Sullivan off the plane.
Denial and Court Hearing
Sullivan attempted to downplay the situation, claiming she was merely rubbing her boyfriend’s leg. However, authorities were not convinced, and the couple was charged with public indecency.
During a hearing at Bristol Magistrates Court, both Smith and Sullivan pleaded guilty to the charges.
Judge’s Remarks and Sentencing
Judge Lynne Matthews did not mince words during the sentencing, stating, “You had no regard for the feelings of other passengers. There was a child sitting behind you who was able to see what was happening. Who do you think you are, and what right do you think entitled you to behave in that way in full view of people on that flight?”
Smith was sentenced to 300 hours of community service, while Sullivan received 270 hours. Additionally, the couple was ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each of the three passengers who reported the incident.
EasyJet’s Response
An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed the situation, stating, “We can confirm that this flight to Bristol was met by police on arrival, due to the behavior of two passengers onboard.”
The incident has caused shock and outrage among passengers, many of whom were left disturbed by the couple’s actions during the flight.
