Tarisai Musakanda Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges
Former Zimbabwean cricketer Tarisai Musakanda has been arrested on charges of attempted murder following a violent altercation with his wife.
Incident Details and Arrest
Musakanda, who last played for Zimbabwe nearly two years ago, is now facing serious legal repercussions after this disturbing incident. According to National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the confrontation began when Musakanda’s wife, Tinodiwanashe, hired workers to build a shelter at her vending site. Tensions escalated when the workers returned for payment, leading to a violent dispute with Musakanda.
Around 3 a.m., neighbors reported hearing screams from the couple’s residence. One witness described the scene: “We were woken by shouting. Mai Dewei was calling for help, so we rushed over. When we arrived, we saw Musakanda holding a knife, and his wife was trying to defend herself but had been injured. She had been stabbed in the back, and we immediately took her to the hospital.”
The neighbor added that this was not the first instance of violence between the couple, noting previous altercations. Musakanda had a history of legal issues, including a fatal car accident charge in 2022.
