Cambodian Woman Attacks Another Woman Over Boyfriend Dispute
A Cambodian woman has been arrested for attempting to murder another woman during a dispute involving her Nigerian boyfriend. Lim Sokleap, 30, a croupier from Sihanoukville, was taken into custody on September 12, 2024, and brought before the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
The incident occurred on August 9, 2024, when Sokleap went to visit her partner, Chali, 35, at his condo in Tuol Sangke II commune, Russey Keo district. Finding Chali with another woman, Sokleap became enraged and attacked the 27-year-old victim, a karaoke worker from Phnom Penh Thmey commune, Sen Sok district.
Sokleap allegedly forced her way into Chali’s apartment, grabbed the victim by the hair, and threatened her with a meat cleaver, demanding payment for Chali’s company. The victim, however, claimed to be Chali’s girlfriend as well. Sokleap ordered the victim to leave the apartment and was later arrested after a video of the attack surfaced on social media.
Sokleap confessed to the crime but claimed that the victim had taken her Nigerian boyfriend from her.
