Selena Gomez Reveals She Can’t Have Children Naturally, But Is Open to Surrogacy and Adoption
In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez shared a deeply personal revelation: she is unable to carry her own children due to significant medical complications.
The 32-year-old actress disclosed, “I unfortunately have a lot of medical issues that would jeopardize both my life and the baby’s.” This was a challenging realization for Gomez, who had to come to terms with the impact it would have on her life.
Having been diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017, Gomez admitted that she had not previously discussed this aspect of her health publicly.
Despite this, Gomez remains hopeful about becoming a parent. She expressed her gratitude for the medical options available to her, saying, “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. But I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”
