Glen Powell Scores Big as Chad Powers in New Sports Comedy
Glen Powell is making waves both in Hollywood and on the field as he stars in his new sports TV comedy, “Chad Powers.”
Powell is playing Oregon Ducks college quarterback Russ Holliday, and recent scenes show him in action on the field in Atlanta, dodging Georgia Bulldogs defenders and scoring a touchdown.
These scenes flash back to his character’s glory days, with Powell sporting a youthful mullet, a different look from his usual style seen in other parts of the show.
The Hulu series follows the story of disgraced football player Russ Holliday, who disguises himself as ‘Chad Powers’ with a prosthetic makeover to help a struggling Southern football team and revive his career.
The role is inspired by Eli Manning’s ESPN+ docuseries “Eli’s Places,” where Manning went undercover with a wig and prosthetics to experience the walk-on process for college football.
For Glen Powell, this is yet another major role, showing his versatility from “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Twisters” to the quirky “Chad Powers.” He’s proving he can take on any challenge!
