Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour Exchange Insults at NYC Fashion Awards
9:26 AM PT — Naomi Campbell was not late to Tuesday evening’s Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show and Style Awards, despite Anna Wintour’s comment, TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Naomi tell TMZ that the supermodel arrived exactly when instructed by the event’s producers. It was actually Anna who moved up the presentation time because she wanted to attend the US Open later.
Anna Wintour did make it to the tennis tournament and was seen enjoying herself with other attendees.
Naomi, unaware of Anna’s early departure, noticed her exit and was disappointed, which led her to make a pointed remark onstage.
Naomi Campbell threw a shade on Anna Wintour 😂 Naomi was late and Anna didn’t wait for her. Anna gave the award to Samira to present it to Naomi. Naomi didn’t want Anna to present her an award anyways 😂 #nyfw #naomicampbell #annawintour pic.twitter.com/hwFOLA4sXT

Naomi wasn’t just upset with Anna’s early exit but also felt bad for the designers who missed the chance to impress the Vogue editor.
The tension between Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour was evident during the NYC fashion show, with both icons taking jabs at each other in front of the audience.
The drama began at Tuesday night’s Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show and Style Awards when Anna took the stage and subtly criticized Naomi for supposedly being late.
Anna said, “I am a very punctual person, and I have the honor of presenting tonight to someone who is often late,” clearly referring to Naomi. After getting impatient, Anna left the event early.
With Anna gone, Samira Nasr, Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief, stepped in to present the Fashion Icon Award to Naomi.
Naomi started by acknowledging her reputation for being late but said everything works out in the end. Then, she took a dig at Anna, saying she preferred Nasr to present the award.
Naomi said, “It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady [Wintour]. I’d much rather have this,” referring to Nasr. The audience was surprised, with many gasping at the comment. For now, it seems Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour won’t be exchanging holiday greetings this year.
