49ers WR Ricky Pearsall’s Mom Credits God After Bullet Misses Vital Organs: ‘Alive By the Grace of God!’
Ricky Pearsall is fortunate to be alive after being shot during an attempted robbery on Saturday, and his mother believes divine intervention saved his life.
Erin Pearsall provided an update on her son’s condition less than 24 hours after police reported that a 17-year-old suspect shot Ricky in the chest while trying to steal his Rolex in broad daylight. According to her Facebook post, the bullet passed through Ricky’s chest and exited his back, but incredibly, it missed all of his vital organs.
Ricky’s mom credits God entirely for her son’s survival, saying without divine intervention, he likely wouldn’t have made it through the ordeal.
Police arrived at the scene around 3:30 PM, finding two men injured—Ricky and his alleged attacker. After investigating, authorities discovered that the suspect had sustained an injury from his own gun during a struggle with Ricky. The suspect was arrested.
Despite being shot, video footage shows Ricky walking toward an ambulance, which is remarkable given the circumstances.
Ricky, who was drafted by the 49ers as the 31st overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft after a standout senior season with the Florida Gators, has been recovering from a shoulder injury in recent weeks.
Fortunately, it appears Ricky is expected to make a full recovery, and his mom says he has the “Big Man” to thank for that!
