England Striker Ivan Toney Agrees to £40m Move to Al-Ahli
England and Brentford striker Ivan Toney has agreed to join Saudi club Al-Ahli in a deal worth £40 million. The 28-year-old has reached terms on a lucrative three-year contract and is set to undergo a medical examination ahead of the proposed transfer.
The deal will bring a £40 million fee to Brentford, and when combined with Toney’s wages, the total cost of the transfer is expected to reach £100 million.
Toney has been a key player for Brentford, scoring 72 goals in 141 appearances.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank confirmed on Thursday that Toney would not be part of the squad for Saturday’s match against Southampton, regardless of any developments on transfer deadline day.
“I can say that Ivan will not play on Saturday,” Frank said. “Ivan is training well and in good spirits, but I’m happy to talk more about him the next time we are here.”
This move comes after Al-Ahli initially expressed interest in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and successfully secured the 25-year-old’s transfer.
