Swedish Coach Janne Andersson Confirms Talks with NFF Over Super Eagles Coaching Job in Nigeria
Swedish manager Janne Andersson has confirmed that he is in discussions with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding the vacant Super Eagles coaching job.
Andersson, who has been without a job since leaving the Swedish national team last November, has been linked to the Nigeria management position. The 61-year-old former Halmstads BK coach spoke to reporters on Friday, August 23, saying:
“I can confirm that I have had a dialogue with the Nigeria Football Federation,” he told Swedish news outlet Expressen. “It’s a huge footballing nation, so I’m extremely flattered to be in the running to be their next national team coach. Dialogue is ongoing, and I don’t really want to say more than that. I have been in this industry for so long and know that things can happen in different ways. So we’ll see what happens in the future.”
