Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Daughter Gets Name Change After Dropping Father’s Last Name
Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter has officially changed her name. On Monday, August 19, their 18-year-old daughter dropped the last name “Pitt” and is now called Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
Shiloh, who turned 18 on May 27, filed papers on May 30 to legally remove “Pitt” from her name, as shown in court documents.
The reason for her decision to change her name has not been shared.
In July, Shiloh posted a legal notice in the Los Angeles Times for several weeks, saying she planned to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
The notice was required by California law, which asks anyone changing their last name to publish it in a newspaper for at least four weeks before the court date to avoid delays.
Shiloh’s name change comes eight years after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. They were declared legally single in 2019, but their divorce is not yet finalized. They also have other children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
Over the years, Jolie and Pitt have been involved in legal battles over child custody and disagreements about their shared business interests, including a French winery.
