Plane with 62 People On Board Crashes in Brazil, No Survivors Reported (Video)
A tragic plane crash in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has left no survivors among the 62 people on board, local authorities have confirmed.
Footage circulating on social media captures the terrifying moment the aircraft plunged rapidly toward the ground.
Another video aired by Brazilian TV station GloboNews reveals a large area engulfed in flames, with smoke billowing from what appears to be the fuselage, following the crash in the municipality of Vinhedo.
The airline Voepass has reported that the flight was carrying 58 passengers and 4 crew members. The flight was en route from Cascavel in the state of Parana to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo state.
Voepass has not yet provided any information regarding the potential cause of the crash.
The city hall of Valinhos, a municipality near Vinhedo, has confirmed that there are no survivors.
Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, addressed the incident during an event in the southern part of the country, stating that it appears all passengers and crew have perished. However, he did not specify the source of this information.
President Lula later requested a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the crash.
