Tori Roloff Reveals Her Dad’s Initial Disapproval of Her Relationship with Zach
“I remember getting ready for a date with you and him saying, ‘No, this isn’t the guy I pictured for you.'”
Tori Roloff shared on the couple’s Raising Heights podcast how her father initially tried to intervene in her relationship with Zach, now her husband.
“I remember telling him who you were and showing him a picture, and he was like, ‘No, what are you talking about? This isn’t the guy I pictured for you,'” Tori recalled. “He literally asked, ‘Are you sure?’ multiple times. He was like, ‘I don’t know about this.'”
Despite her father’s reservations, Tori and Zach continued dating after meeting in high school in 2011. Today, Tori’s dad is one of Zach’s biggest supporters.
“Pretty sure my dad likes you better than me now,” Tori joked. “My whole family likes you more.”
Tori also mentioned that her dad wasn’t the only one with doubts about her relationship with Zach. Friends and family had questions, but their concerns faded once they met Zach.
“There were questions when we started dating, but once everyone met you, they understood. Height didn’t matter.”
Tori emphasized that outside opinions shouldn’t affect one’s happiness.
“They could have kept me from happiness and you as well. We didn’t let other people’s opinions come between us.”
She continued, “You look for things that are wrong when the person isn’t right for you. Once I met you, even though your height was different than I imagined, there was nothing wrong with you.”
