Billy Ray Cyrus accuses wife of unauthorized credit card charges in messy divorce case
Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is embroiled in a messy divorce with his wife, Firerose, and he’s now seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent her from accessing his finances.
According to court documents, Billy Ray alleges that Firerose made 37 unauthorized charges totaling $96,986.05 on his business American Express card between May 23 and June 7.
He claims she did this without his consent, stating that he never allowed her access to his cards or accounts since they did not file joint taxes.
Billy Ray is also requesting an emergency order to block Firerose from accessing his financial accounts and to reimburse him for the charges she made without permission.
In response, Firerose contends that she had permission to use Billy Ray’s credit cards since moving in with him in 2022. She argues that she was maintaining her lifestyle and should continue to use his money for personal expenses and legal fees during their marriage.
Firerose’s legal team has returned $45,000 to Billy Ray, explaining it was an error in charging her $50,000 instead of $5,000.
Meanwhile, Billy Ray has already filed to annul their 7-month marriage, alleging fraud. This dispute over credit card charges is separate from their divorce proceedings.
