Teyana Taylor’s former spouse, Iman Shumpert, asserts she earns twice as much as he does and is seeking a modification of child support payments amid their contentious divorce.
The 33-year-old ex-NBA player recently submitted court documents requesting an adjustment due to the significant income disparity between him and the 33-year-old singer and actress, according to a report by TMZ on Thursday.
In the court filings, Shumpert claims Taylor’s gross monthly income before taxes is $93,885, nearly double his own at $47,981.
Though Shumpert has earned $48 million throughout his NBA career, he has been out of the league since 2021.
When Taylor filed for divorce in November, she stated that her estranged husband was insecure and envious of her success.
The couple is currently negotiating child support for their two children, with Shumpert proposing to pay $8,000 per month. He also offered to cover major medical expenses but wants to share the costs of other health services for the children.
This new legal development follows accusations from Taylor a few months ago, claiming Shumpert had cut off the utilities at the Atlanta home where she lives with their kids.
