On Tuesday, July 11, an Oyo state Family Court remanded Maruf Abdullahi, better known as “Trinity Guy,” in the Agodi correctional facility for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Mrs. P. O. Adetuyibi, also directed that the minor’s parents, Rofiat Ahmed, 29, and Isiaka Ahmed, 40, remain in Agodi until August 3 for mention.
TORI previously reported that the Oyo state police command invited the comedian on June 23 after the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, called for his arrest over a video in which he asked a female minor to describe his genitals, suggesting in the video that she had mistakenly seen the video.
The police additionally investigated the guardians of the female minor after Trinity had unveiled that he accepted their assent previously, during and after the production. His interaction with the minor, according to the police command, was a clear violation of Sec. 32,35 and 36 of the Youngster Privileges Demonstration of 2023.
On June 26, the three were brought before Magistrate Olare Adebayo for their arraignment on a two-count charge of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation in violation of Sections 516 and 38 of the Criminal Code. Counsel for the defendants pleaded for bail while his client was being arraigned.
