I’m a son of gangster while you’re son of a carpenter – Burna Boy Throws Shade at Brymo in New Song Performance. Nigerian artist Burna Boy has once again stirred the pot with a subtle jab at fellow musician Brymo in his latest musical offering.
During a rehearsal session with his band, Outsiders, Burna Boy showcased his trademark boldness and lyrical prowess, dropping a clever line aimed at Brymo.
In his freestyle, the ‘City Boys’ star asserted, “I’m a son of a gangster while you’re a son of a carpenter,” prompting fans and critics to dissect the implied message.
Speculation arose that Burna Boy’s barb was directed at Brymo following the release of the latter’s second studio album, ‘Son of a Kapenta’, back in November 2012.
This latest move adds fuel to the ongoing feud between Burna Boy and Brymo, which ignited when Brymo accused Burna Boy of song theft, claiming that tracks like ‘City Boys’ and ‘I Told Them’ sampled elements from his forthcoming album, ‘Macabre’.
