Police detain a man for reportedly stealing a tricycle from a mosque while the owner was in prayer (Video)
Adamawa State Police have apprehended a man named Abdulrahman Ishaq for allegedly stealing a commercial tricycle, commonly known as a Keke NAPEP.
The 22-year-old resident of Geriyo, located in the Yola North Local Government Area, was caught after he purportedly took the Keke NAPEP from the premises of a mosque near Gate 4, one of the entrance gates to the Jimeta Modern Market in Yola.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, confirmed the incident to reporters on Saturday, July 8.
According to Nguroje, the suspect discreetly removed the tricycle from where the owner had parked it and then joined fellow worshippers who were engaging in prayers at the mosque.
“The suspect was apprehended within Jimeta, and our investigation has revealed that he took the tricycle from the vicinity of Gate 4 Mosque while the worshippers were involved in their prayers,” stated Nguroje.
