Popular businesswoman in Port Harcourt is abducted by gunmen
Based on our source, panic ensued among the witnesses as the gunmen fired indiscriminately, causing people to scatter for safety, while the businesswoman was forcefully taken away.
Reports confirm that Mrs. Onyi Ugba, a businesswoman, has been abducted. The incident took place on Okija Street, Mile 2 Diobu, within the Port Harcourt City local government area of Rivers State.
According to DAILY POST, a group of heavily armed criminals, approximately five in number, raided Mrs. Ugba’s superstore on Friday. They demanded that she surrender all the proceeds from her sales to them. However, when the businesswoman couldn’t meet their monetary demands, the gunmen grew enraged.
Eyewitnesses revealed that as the gunmen fired sporadically, creating chaos, bystanders scrambled for safety before the kidnappers swiftly took the businesswoman away.
Although the Mile 1 Police station responded promptly to the scene after the criminals had fled, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, assured the public that the police are actively investigating the case to secure the victim’s rescue and apprehend the culprits.
It is worth noting that in December 2022, armed criminals robbed Onyi Ugba of a substantial sum of money, totaling in millions, during a previous attack on her superstore on the same Okija Street, as reported by DAILY POST.
