Ghanaian Chef Faila Disqualified by Guinness World Records After Attempting 227-Hour Cooking Marathon.
Ghanaian chef Faila Abdul-Razak has been disqualified by Guinness World Records (GWR) in her attempt to set a new record for the longest cooking time. Faila embarked on a 10-day cooking marathon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, starting on January 1st, 2024, with the aim of surpassing the previous record of 119 hours and 57 minutes set by Irish chef Alan Fisher.
Despite cooking for 227 hours, Faila’s attempt was disqualified due to a violation of the rest break rules, as announced by her coordinator, Kafui Dey.
Faila expressed her gratitude to her supporters despite the setback, emphasizing their importance in her journey.
