Path to Academic Excellence: Kogi State Polytechnic Withdraws 313 Underperforming Students
In a commitment to upholding academic excellence, Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja has made the decision to withdraw 313 students from its institution due to poor academic performance. This development was announced by Uredo Omale, the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit, in a statement released on Friday.
The decision to withdraw the students was made after careful consideration of the report presented by the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee during a board meeting held at the Polytechnic’s main campus in Lokoja.
Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Chairman of the Board and Rector of the Polytechnic, emphasized that this action was taken as part of the institution’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and cultivating deserving academic ambassadors.
The withdrawn students represented various departments and programs, encompassing a total of 17 departments and 28 programs within the institution.
This measure highlights the Polytechnic’s dedication to fostering an environment conducive to learning and academic excellence. By prioritizing quality education and ensuring that students meet the necessary performance standards, the institution aims to produce capable and accomplished graduates who will serve as exemplary representatives of their alma mater.
While this decision may be challenging for the affected students, it also presents an opportunity for growth and self-improvement. It serves as a reminder that academic pursuits require dedication, effort, and a commitment to personal development.
Through such actions, Kogi State Polytechnic aims to continually raise the bar of academic excellence, nurturing a community of students who will thrive and make significant contributions in their respective fields.
