Tragic Death of Emily Gold, a High School Cheerleader and America’s Got Talent Star
Emily Gold, a 17-year-old high school cheerleader who recently gained national attention on America’s Got Talent, has tragically died in what authorities are investigating as a possible suicide.
Gold was discovered deceased beneath a bridge on the eastbound 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga, California, just before midnight on Friday. According to law enforcement sources, she is believed to have jumped from an overpass, tragically landing on the freeway below.
Investigation Continues Into the Tragic Death
Authorities received multiple 911 calls about a pedestrian in the carpool lane, and when California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers arrived, they found that Gold had been struck by at least one vehicle, which did not stop. Investigators are still unsure whether the driver realized they had hit a person or thought it was an object on the road.
No suicide note was discovered at the scene or on Gold, and the CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Emily Gold became a national sensation earlier this year when she and her Los Osos High School dance team delivered an electrifying performance on America’s Got Talent, which earned them a standing ovation from Simon Cowell. The team reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated in August.
