FBI Uncovers Political Motivation Behind Trump Targeting
Ryan Wesley Routh, a 58-year-old man arrested for allegedly targeting former President Donald Trump with an AK-47 near the Mar-a-Lago golf club, was found to have a Biden-Harris sticker on his truck, according to the FBI’s investigation. Authorities also reported discovering Routh’s vocal political stance through his online posts.
Routh’s Shift from Trump Voter to Anti-Trump Activist
Routh, who initially voted for Trump in 2016, grew disillusioned with the former president’s policies. He accused Trump of attempting to “make Americans slaves to a master,” according to *The Washington Post*. Over the years, Routh’s political affiliations shifted significantly, and by 2019, he was an active supporter of Democratic candidates, donating exclusively to Democratic causes.
Investigations Into Routh’s Activities
The NY Post reported that Routh’s home in Kaaawa, Hawaii, featured a Biden-Harris bumper sticker on his pickup truck, and federal agents conducted searches at his former residence in Greensboro, North Carolina. Secret Service and Homeland Security agents are continuing their investigation into Routh’s alleged plot against Trump.
In one of his social media posts from April 22, Routh advised President Biden to campaign on keeping “America democratic and free,” underscoring his strong opposition to Trump’s administration.
