You Won’t See Me for a Long Time”: Adele Announces Indefinite Break from Music
Adele, 36, has announced that she will be taking an extended break from music following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency.
In a TikTok clip from one of her performances in Munich, Germany, Adele shared the news with her fans. “I have 10 shows left, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart,” she said.
Fans expressed their emotions in the comments section, with reactions ranging from sadness to support. “Please don’t leave us,” one fan pleaded, while another simply wrote, “Noooo.” Others were more understanding, with one comment reading, “Good for her! Enjoy your break, Adele.”
Speculation has arisen among fans that Adele’s break might be related to her upcoming marriage to fiancé Rich Paul. The singer confirmed her engagement to the 42-year-old sports agent during a show in Munich last month.
Adele first hinted at her break from music in July, telling German outlet ZDF, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all… I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele began her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022, with her final show scheduled for November 23, 2024. Her most recent album, “30,” was released in 2021, and she typically takes several years between album releases.
