Shocking Reason Rwanda’s Paralympic Women’s Sitting Volleyball Team Member Goes Missing in Paris
A member of Rwanda’s Paralympic women’s sitting volleyball team has been reported missing in Paris. According to Mail Online, the athlete, who arrived in the French capital earlier this month, did not attend the Paralympic opening ceremony.
On August 20, she left her accommodation in Paris to dine at a restaurant with a group but never returned. Authorities have since launched a police investigation into her disappearance.
The police released a statement on Wednesday morning, just before the opening ceremony, confirming the ‘worrying disappearance’ and that the case had been referred to the BRDP (the Brigade for the Suppression of Crimes against Persons).
The Rwandan ambassador has also visited the location where the athlete was last seen. Despite the absence of their teammate, Rwanda’s women’s sitting volleyball team began their campaign at Paris 2024 on Thursday, losing 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-7) to Brazil.
