Kepa Arrizabalaga Joins Bournemouth on Season-Long Loan from Chelsea
Bournemouth have confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for the upcoming season.
The Spanish goalkeeper, who joined Chelsea in 2018 for a world-record fee of £71 million, has struggled to maintain a regular starting position at the club in recent seasons.
Last season, Kepa was on loan at Real Madrid, where he made a significant impact by helping the team secure both the LaLiga title and the Champions League.
AFC Bournemouth’s chief executive, Neill Blake, expressed his excitement about the signing, stating, “We are thrilled to bring a player of Kepa’s calibre to AFC Bournemouth. We were aware of his availability and eagerly seized the opportunity to bring him in on loan. We believe he will be an exciting addition to our talented goalkeeping department.”
Kepa made 20 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid last season. Since joining Chelsea from his boyhood club Athletic Bilbao, he has made 163 appearances for the Blues.
