Floyd Mayweather and Tyga Sued for Millions in Unpaid Jewelry
Miami jeweler Leonard Sulaymanov has filed a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Tyga, claiming they owe him at least $4 million and accusing them of racketeering under the RICO Act.
According to the Miami New Times, Sulaymanov’s lawsuit alleges that Mayweather and his company, The Money Team, engaged in fraudulent activities, including civil conspiracy, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and civil theft.
The lawsuit, filed on Friday, August 23, in a federal court in Miami, also names Tyga (whose real name is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson) for allegedly failing to pay for a Rolex watch.
Sulaymanov claims the defendants exploited his reputation, business, and inventory to systematically steal and convert his watches and jewelry without paying the full price.
In June 2021, Sulaymanov reportedly sold Mayweather several items, including an Audemars Piguet watch, two Richard Mille watches, a Patek Philippe watch, a Rolex, a diamond ring, and a diamond necklace. He alleges that Mayweather only paid $267,000 before leaving Miami, despite documented proof of the transaction.
Two weeks later, Sulaymanov met Mayweather and Tyga in Las Vegas, bringing additional items, including ten Rolex Presidential Anniversary watches and a Richard Mille. Tyga reportedly agreed to buy a Rolex Day-Date for $79,000, and Mayweather made more purchases. However, Sulaymanov alleges that Mayweather did not settle the outstanding balance.
The lawsuit claims that Mayweather and Tyga misled Sulaymanov into believing they would have a beneficial ongoing business relationship, only for Sulaymanov to face delays and non-payment. He has since sought over $3.88 million in overdue payments, along with compensation for “humiliation, embarrassment, and mental anguish.”
