Manchester United Reach Agreement with PSG to Sign Manuel Ugarte for £50.7m
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to acquire Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
United will initially pay £42.2 million, with the total deal potentially rising to £50.7 million (€60 million) through performance-related add-ons.
Ugarte, who has been United’s primary midfield target throughout the transfer window, is expected to arrive in the UK on Tuesday, August 27, for a medical examination and to finalize personal terms.
PSG entered negotiations seeking to recoup the £51.1 million (€60 million) they paid Sporting Lisbon for Ugarte last summer, before bonuses.
United are reportedly satisfied with the terms of the deal.
Ugarte will join Manchester United just a year after PSG acquired him from Sporting Lisbon for £51.1 million.
The midfielder was absent from PSG’s matchday squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre, which saw the reigning champions secure a 4-1 victory.
Last season, Ugarte led the French top flight in tackles, recording 98 in total, despite starting only 21 games during the 2023/24 campaign.
