US Border Agent Charged for Demanding Women Expose Their Breasts Before Entry into the Country
A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been charged after allegedly ordering women to expose their breasts during the admissions process to enter the country, federal authorities announced. Shane Millan, 53, faces four misdemeanor counts of deprivation of rights under color of law, according to a press release from federal prosecutors in the Northern District of New York.
Prosecutors allege that Millan willfully violated the constitutional rights of four different women by subjecting them to unreasonable searches.
During virtual processing for their admission into the U.S., Millan allegedly instructed three women to “expose their bare chests” via webcam and directed a fourth woman to reveal her breasts while keeping her bra on, according to the prosecutors.
Prosecutors say Millan made these demands “for his own gratification” and misled the women by claiming he was conducting legitimate searches.
Millan was arraigned on Thursday, August 22, before a federal magistrate judge in Syracuse and has been released pending trial.
