Trump Leaves Bulletproof Glass to Help Woman During Rally (Video)
Former U.S. President Donald Trump stepped away from the bulletproof glass at his rally on Wednesday, August 21, in Asheboro, North Carolina, to address a medical emergency in the crowd.
This marked his first outdoor campaign rally since surviving an assassination attempt. During the event, just before 3 p.m., a woman in the crowd appeared to suffer a medical episode, catching the attention of the Republican nominee. Trump immediately called out, “A doctor, please,” as he paused his speech and looked toward the scene for several minutes.
Acknowledging the intense heat, Trump remarked on the situation, saying, “It is very hot here, I notice. A lot of people waited for days to get here. I understand it.” He continued, “Take your time, doctor, take your time, thank you.”
In a surprising move, Trump walked away from the protective glass panels, descended a few steps into the crowd, and found the elderly woman who seemed to be recovering from the episode. He embraced her warmly as she drank water.
Surrounded by about half a dozen Secret Service agents, Trump interacted with the woman, whose identity was not immediately known. The crowd erupted in chants of “We love Trump!” as the former president made his way back to the stage

The rally was held at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame, nearly a month and a half after a shooter in Butler, Pennsylvania, grazed Trump’s ear with a bullet during an open-air rally. In response, additional security measures were in place, including bulletproof glass, storage containers around the perimeter, and snipers positioned on the venue’s rooftops.
