Johnny Wactor Case: Coworker Says Justice Is Still Needed Despite Arrests
Johnny Wactor‘s coworker, who was with him on the night of his tragic death, is relieved that his alleged killers have been arrested but insists that true justice won’t be served until they are convicted and receive the maximum punishment.
In a conversation with TMZ, Anita Joy expressed a mixture of joy and relief knowing that three individuals have been arrested and charged with murder. However, she emphasizes that real justice will only be achieved when these suspects are given serious convictions.
Anita is optimistic about the possibility of these convictions, particularly because the suspects have been held on high bail amounts. Initially, she feared that the suspects might not be tried as adults, suspecting they were underage based on what she witnessed the night of the murder. However, it was later confirmed that all three suspects are 18 years old, meaning they will be tried as adults.
As previously reported, the LAPD arrested three members of the Florencia 13 gang on murder charges, and another gang member on an accessory charge. The arrests followed the fatal shooting of Johnny, who was shot in the chest when he confronted a group attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car outside the Level 8 restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.
Anita believes this tragedy could have been prevented if the restaurant had provided safer parking for its employees. She claims that she and others had repeatedly raised concerns about the parking situation, but nothing was ever done. Since the murder, neither she nor Johnny’s family has heard from the restaurant, with Anita stating that her only support has come from coworkers.
Anita is also grateful that progress in the case was made before Johnny’s upcoming birthday on August 31, which she says is a small relief for his grieving family.
