What Do You Truly Gain by Constantly Disrespecting and Belittling Me?” – Peter Okoye Pens Open Letter to Twin Brother Paul
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has responded to claims made by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, who has asserted that he wrote most of the songs they performed together as the PSquare duo.
In an open letter shared on social media this morning, Peter expressed his frustration with Paul, who he says has repeatedly taken full credit for the songs they produced together during interviews.
Peter argued that this narrative is unfair. He explained that whenever he discussed their music, he always used collective terms like “we” or “us.” However, he pointed out that Paul often spoke as though the success of the songs was solely his achievement, even when Peter was present.
Peter also accused Paul of disrespecting his contributions, his wife, his family, and even aligning with their older brother and former manager, Jude, to undermine him.
“What do you truly gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me all the time? You have disrespected my wife, disrespected my family, disrespected my talent, disrespected my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was clearly trying to oppress me,” Peter wrote.
He further stated that Paul’s actions seemed aimed at turning their fans against him. However, Peter noted that their fans love them for their unique chemistry as a duo, not because of their individual talents.
Peter concluded by saying that later today, August 12, he would address the rumors about him involving Paul and Jude with the EFCC.
