Manchester City Sell Striker Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for £82m
Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Julian Alvarez, valued at up to £82 million (€95 million).
Atletico will pay £64 million (€75 million) upfront, with the remaining amount coming from add-ons. This deal marks a record sale for City and a substantial profit on the £14 million the Premier League champions paid River Plate for the Argentine forward in January 2022.
Alvarez has made 103 appearances for City since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium two and a half years ago, scoring 36 goals.
The Argentine international has won two Premier League titles, along with the FA Cup, Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup titles, all in 2023.
During his tenure at City, Alvarez also won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina and the Copa America earlier this year.
