Lionel Messi Reveals Desire to Have a Daughter with Wife Antonela Roccuzzo
Superstar footballer Lionel Messi has admitted that he would love to have a baby girl with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, despite the couple not currently trying for another child.
Messi, who married Roccuzzo in 2017 after meeting her when they were five years old, already has three sons with his childhood sweetheart: Thiago, 11, Mateo, 8, and Ciro, 6.
In September, the former Barcelona star hinted that they might consider having a fourth child, expressing his desire for a daughter.
In a new interview with ESPN Argentina, Messi discussed the possibility of expanding his family, saying: “I would love to have a daughter, but right now, we’re not trying. There’s nothing concrete at the moment.”
During the interview, the 36-year-old also reflected on his challenging time in Paris while playing for PSG.
“The neighbors in Paris were difficult,” he recalled. “They rang the doorbell and told the boys not to make any noise playing football, even if it was ten o’clock.
“But I don’t hold anything against them [in Paris] either. Things didn’t work out the way they or I wanted.
“I struggled because the change was very hard for us, which affected my mood and performance on the pitch.
“On a personal level, my time in Paris was not good.”
