Rapper Jeezy and Jeannie Mai Finalize Divorce with Settlement Agreement
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai, a former celebrity couple, are now officially divorced after two years of marriage.
As reported by PEOPLE, the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia has approved the dissolution of the marriage between the former co-host of The Real, 45, and the rapper Jeezy (Jay Jenkins), 46.
To maintain privacy regarding their divorce settlement details, including child support, custody, spousal support, and property division, the ex-couple has agreed to file their divorce under seal.
Their finalized divorce comes nine months after Jeezy filed for divorce in September, ending their two-and-a-half-year marriage.
In his filing, Jeezy stated that they were “living in a bona fide state of separation” and their marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
The documents also mentioned that Jeezy is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Monaco, born in January 2022.
Following the news, Jeezy issued a statement regarding his divorce, saying, “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.”
The Grammy-nominated rapper added, “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remain, and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”
Jeannie Mai also addressed the divorce on Instagram, posting a message in a notebook that read, “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal.”
