My hard earned money, gone just like that” – Nigerian POS operator scammed ₦90k deposit, left with just ₦7.6k. A Nigerian woman, running a POS service, wept after falling victim to a customer’s scam. Initially presented with ₦90,000 for deposit, she later discovered it was only ₦7,600, all in ₦100 bills.
She recounted meticulously counting the money before proceeding with the transaction. However, when another client requested a withdrawal, she realized the discrepancy—₦90,000 swapped for ₦100 bills, totaling ₦7,600.
Expressing her anguish, she shared, “I was scammed today 😭 Someone came to do a POS deposit of ₦90,000, and I counted the cash he brought, which was complete. I sent the money to his account.”
“But a few hours later, when I opened the wrapping to give cash to another customer, I found that the money had turned into ₦100 notes, totaling ₦7,600. 😭😭😭 My hard-earned money gone just like that.”
Her plight garnered attention on social media, prompting various users to share their thoughts in the comments.
